Aubrey McCormick was born in Orlando, Florida and, unlike most professional golfers, Aubrey was a late comer to the sport, beginning to play golf at 17. Her dad, an incredible musician and scratch golfer, is credited to her beginning the game. It was immediately apparent that Aubrey had a natural talent for the game. After playing golf for less than a year, Aubrey shot even par and earned a full golf scholarship to Daytona State College. In only her second semester, Aubrey was a valuable member of the NJCAA National winning team, being named. Second Team All-American and was voted Most Improved Player of the Year in 2003. Soon after winning the NJCAA National Title, Aubrey was recruited by more than one dozen colleges and chose to compete at Missouri State University, where she lettered each year.
Aubrey turned professional in 2007, after graduating from MSU. She has competed on tours such as the Sun Coast Tour, the Moon Light Tour, and has earned status on the Duramed Futures Tour three years in a row. Since 2008, she has successfully placed top 10 in four tournaments, including two runner-up finishes and a 12th place finish at The Women’s Met Open in 2009. During her short time as a professional golfer, Aubrey also advanced from the 2009 Women’s US Open Regional Qualifier, placing top 10 among 90 competitors and moved along to finish the final round just one stroke short of the cut.
In 2010, Aubrey stepped off the course and moved to Washington, DC to pursue her other life passions. She became an environmental advocate, supporter of animal rights, and has a strong passion for helping those less fortunate. She leads by example as a Foster Care Mentor, volunteer at the Humane Society, and team member of Green America, an environmental non-profit. She believes anything is possible with hard work and a positive attitude and is dedicating her life to helping others through the game of golf.
