SUSTAINABILITY IN MODEL/CONSTRUCTION

Dixon Golf Corporate Headquarters is located in a certified U.S. Green Building Council structure that was specifically designed to use 52% less energy. The building features environmentally conscious operating techniques that go hand-in-hand with Dixon Golf’s commitment to the earth. Solar panels located on the building's exterior provide a natural source of energy for both electricity and water heating. Mechanical/retractable shading devices, automatic lighting control and an under-floor ventilation system keep the building cool in the desert heat. The green building recycles water internally and collects rainfall through outdoor drains which are both used in the irrigation system for its surrounding desert landscaping and Sonoran Desert roof garden. .

SUSTAINABILITY IN PRACTICE

Dixon Golf’s day-to-day operations reflects its environmental mission. Employees are asked to use reusable water bottles and coffee mugs. The office only uses Green Works and Sustainable Earth products that can be recycled in their paper, plastic and aluminum recycling center. Invoices are sent exclusively through e-mail, and the vast majority of essential documents are stored electronically. In addition, Dixon encourages its employees to carpool or use public transportation. Conveniently, Dixon’s corporate headquarters is located at the headquarters of a light rail mass transit system.
